Parading the suspects at the Command Headquarters yesterday, Commandant Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde briefed journalists on the arrests, stating that they were apprehended at different locations across the state.

According to him, on March 5, 2025, Sha’aban Yahaya (22) and Mustapha Mohammed (21), both from Magama Gumau, Toro LGA, were arrested for stealing two Bajaj motorcycles from Sunshine Lodge and Gidan Oga Ali House in Tilde Fulani. NSCDC operatives from the Toro Division apprehended the suspects, who have confessed to the crime.

Similarly, on March 7, 2025, NSCDC operatives from Alkaleri Division arrested Iliyasu Yahaya (22) of Badanga Village, Bauchi LGA, for vandalizing an oil pipeline and illegally extracting kerosene. Items recovered from him included six full 25-litre containers of kerosene, four empty containers, a hacksaw, and a machete.

In another case, on February 26, 2025, Ayuba Isah (38) of Alkaleri LGA was arrested for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl, Fatima Ibrahim, in an uncompleted building at Unguwan GRA, Alkaleri. A medical examination confirmed penetration, despite the suspect’s denial.

Furthermore, on March 4, 2025, Samaila Emmanuel (22) from Wunti, Bauchi, was arrested for siphoning diesel from a 150kVA Mikano generator meant for powering street lights.
