LEADERSHIP Managing Editor Loses Father

Alhaji Yakubu A. Ahmed, father of LEADERSHIP Managing Editor, Hajiya Raliat Ahmed-Yusuf, is dead.

He died on Monday in Abuja after a brief illness. He was 77 years old.

Alhaji Ahmed has since been buried in Abuja in accordance with  Islamic rites.

Born on July 31, 1948,  he is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and a wide circle of family and friends.

The family, in a statement, yesterday,  remembered his dedication to service, love for his family, and positive influence on those around him, saying “As a father, you taught us contentment, patience, and resilience.”

“It broke our hearts to see you in so much pain. You were a fighter who fought till you took your last breath. You were a complete gentleman who impacted many lives positively.

“You lived a life of integrity, showing love and kindness to others. Thank you for being the backbone of our family, for your unwavering love and support, and for always being there for us. Rest in peace, Daddy. We love you, but Allah loves you more. May Allah forgive your shortcomings and grant you aljannah firdaus,” the statement said.

Alhaji Ahmed was a distinguished administrator who served as the Assistant Registrar at Kwara State Polytechnic, former Deputy Registrar of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, and Acting Registrar of the same institution.

He also served as the Director of Local Government (DLG) for the Ankpa and Okehi local governments in Kogi State.

Alhaji Ahmed, a seasoned administrator and former registrar at several prestigious institutions passed away on March 17, 2025, leaving a legacy of integrity, kindness, and resilience.
