QNET, a global lifestyle and wellness direct-selling company, has strongly condemned the misuse of its brand by fraudulent actors following the recent arrest of 28 individuals by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Minna, Niger state.

The company firmly denies any involvement in the alleged Ponzi scheme linked to these individuals and reiterates its commitment to ethical business practices.

The EFCC’s operation, conducted by its Kaduna Zonal Directorate, led to the arrest of suspects reportedly running a fraudulent scheme from a three-bedroom apartment in Al-Bishiri Estate. Authorities claimed to have recovered QNET-related documents at the scene, sparking speculation about the company’s connection to the suspects.

In response, QNET clarified that it operates exclusively through an e-commerce platform and does not use physical application forms, asserting that any documents found in the EFCC’s raid were likely forged or misused by unauthorized individuals seeking to exploit its brand for illicit gain

QNET’s regional general manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Biram Fall, told LEADERSHIP that the company is deeply concerned about repeated misuse of its name.

“We are deeply concerned about the repeated misuse of QNET’s name in fraudulent schemes. These deceptive practices not only harm unsuspecting individuals but also unfairly damage our reputation. QNET operates a legitimate and ethical direct-selling model, empowering independent representatives to promote high-quality wellness and lifestyle products. We categorically deny any connection to the individuals arrested and stand firmly against all fraudulent activities,” Fall averred.

Since entering Nigeria in 2022 through its local partner, Transblue Nigeria Limited, QNET has been at the forefront of consumer protection and financial literacy. In November 2023, the company launched the Say NO! campaign to educate the public about scams and Ponzi schemes misusing its name. This initiative, in collaboration with organizations such as the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, has reached thousands across Nigeria, Senegal, and Burkina Faso through billboards, radio programs, and digital awareness campaigns. Despite these efforts, QNET continues to face challenges from fraudulent actors attempting to exploit its brand.

The company, therefore, urged the public to verify any QNET-related opportunities through its official channels to avoid falling victim to scams. QNET is fully cooperating with the EFCC to ensure the individuals responsible for misusing its name are held accountable. The company encourages anyone with relevant information to assist in the ongoing investigation.

To protect the public from fraudulent schemes falsely associated with QNET, the company advises all to verify QNET-related information only through the official website; report suspicious activities to QNET’s integrity team via WhatsApp and educate themselves on scam prevention by visiting its ‘Say No’ Campaign website.

QNET said it remained committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in direct selling and urged the media and the public to avoid spreading misinformation that could unfairly damage its reputation.
