The Nigerian government and China have launched a comprehensive strategic framework designed to institutionalise collaboration at both executive and legislative levels.
Executive vice chairman and CEO of Merited Negotiation Consulting, Kunle Yusuff, who made this known, said the initiative marks the beginning of a new chapter in the diplomatic and economic relationship between the two nations.
He said Dr. Joseph Tegbe, newly appointed by the president as the director general of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership and Global Liaison will bring with him a wealth of experience and a clear mandate to drive the executive strategy that will solidify Nigeria’s engagement with China in key sectors such as trade, infrastructure, technology, and cultural exchange.
“Supporting this executive drive is the National Assembly’s Committee on Nigeria-China Parliamentary Relations, led by Hon. Jaafaru Yakubu as chairman, and Hon. Uche Okonkwo as deputy chairman.
“This legislative committee holds the crucial responsibility of crafting forward-thinking bills aimed at easing the business environment and enhancing bilateral cooperation.
“The synergy between the executive and legislative arms is designed to create a seamless approach to policy-making and implementation. Together, they form a unified front to ensure that Nigeria-China relations are not only maintained but are strategically elevated to new heights.”
In his capacity, Yusuff serves as a key consultant on Nigeria-China relations to the Federal House of Representatives.
His role in aligning both policy and political will has been instrumental in turning vision into action.
