The Borno State government, on Tuesday, urged residents of Maiduguri and some other local government areas to exercise patience and be vigilant during the temporary outage of power due to major repairs.

A statement by the Directorate of Information, State’s Ministry of Information and Internal Security, which was made available to LEADERSHIP, said the power outage will not be prolonged.

“The Borno State Government wishes to inform the general public that there is a temporary power outage in Maiduguri and some LGAs due to ongoing regular maintenance of the power lines and supporting infrastructure.

“The power outage is expected to be for a short duration. Consequently, members of the public are called upon to exercise patience while the maintenance is completed and power is fully restored.

“Ensure that public electricity assets around their communities such as transformers, poles and cables are safeguarded from vandals and miscreants who may take advantage of the temporary outage to trespass into these assets,” the statement said.

“The Borno State Government appreciates members of the public for their understanding and maximum cooperation,” the statement said.
