Martha Agba Congratulates Cross River APC Chair Over New Appointment

A former aspirant for the House of Representatives in Cross River State, Hon Martha Agba, has extended her congratulations to Barrister Alphonsus Ogar Eba, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Eba chairman of the Governing Council, the Benin City Board of Rubber Research Institute.

Agba also celebrated Eba’s APC National Executive Council nomination as the sole representative for the South-South geopolitical zone on the Seven-member Constitution Review Committee.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, Agba remarked that Eba’s hard work has been recognised with further responsibilities, describing him as one of Nigeria’s most dynamic state chairmen in recent history.

The statement highlighted that precisely one year ago, Eba led a delegation to appeal to President Tinubu for appropriate rewards for party stalwarts, which resulted in the recent appointments of all APC state chairmen.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation officially documented Eba and his colleagues after receiving their appointment letters. The APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, confirmed his acceptance as the sole nominee for the Constitution Review Committee with a signed letter.

The committee, chaired by the Governor of Yobe State, H.E. Mai Mala Buni, includes notable members such as governors from Borno and Nasarawa states and former Speaker H.E. Aminu Bello Masari.
After receiving his appointment letter, Eba presented it to Cross River State Governor H.E. Sen. Bassey Otu, who commended him for this well-deserved recognition.

In response to his appointment, Eba expressed his gratitude to God and President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in a sector he is passionate about. He acknowledged the support of Governor Otu, his family, and the previous governor, H.E. Sen. Prof Ayade, who played a crucial role in his rise to the chairmanship.

Eba committed to harnessing the potential of rubber and gum Arabic, aiming to revitalise these sectors as key components of Nigeria’s economy, especially before the oil boom.
