JUST-IN: Again, 4 Miners Die In Niger Mining Site

At least, four persons, who were allegedly engaging in illegal mining have died in a mining site at Shiroro local government area of Niger State.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday about 8 am at Farin-Doki area, not far from Galadima Kogo where 30 people died in a mining collapse in June 2024.

It was learnt that two of the victims were initially trapped by the rocks hanging on top the deep chasm and the other two got trapped while trying to rescue the trapped persons.

A villager who spoke to LEADERSHIP said the four miners were indigenes of Kano State.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Niger State Command, Wasiu Abiodun has confirmed the incident.
