Violence erupted in Fagge local government area of Kano State on Wednesday night as football fans engaged themselves in free for all fight following the outcome of the quarterfinal match between Real Madrid and Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League (UCL).

The unrest was triggered by Real Madrid’s 1-2 defeat to Arsenal, sealing a 5-1 aggregate victory for the Gunners and marking their first Champions League semi-final appearance in 16 years. The result sparked outrage among some Real Madrid fans, culminating in a violent street fight with jubilant Arsenal supporters.

A viral video posted on Facebook by a social media user, Mustapha Muhd Gujba Banker, captured the chaotic scenes. In the footage, a group of young men—identified as supporters of both football clubs—were seen exchanging punches, hurling stones, and shouting at each other.

The video caption revealed that the violence erupted shortly after the final whistle, with verbal taunts escalating into physical confrontation.

No official statement has been released by the Kano State Police Command as of the time of filing this report on Thursday morning, and it remained unclear whether any arrests were made or injuries sustained during the melee.
