Tinubu particularly admonished leadership of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ASN) to evolve practicable recommendations that would strengthen the relevance of Islam in addressing the plethora of challenges currently facing Nigeria in the area of youths’ development to moral leadership, educational reforms and economic empowerment.

The president, who gave the charge while declaring open the 11th Triennial National Conference of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, also admonished Muslims to always engage with the broader society constructively and conscientiously.

Represented by the Ogun State deputy governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the president said deliberations at the triennial conference, which ended on Thursday, must be able to point Nigeria’s leadership towards the path of unity and collective progress.

Acknowledging the enduring relationship between his forebears and the society, a bond which he said he has continued to hold dear, the president commended the religious organisation for championing the course of Islamic education and community development in Nigeria.
