Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has initiated the formation of vetting teams aimed at accelerating the regularisation of land allocations across the six area councils of the FCT.

During the inauguration of the vetting teams in his office, the FCT’s director of land administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, outlined the objectives of the initiative.

He said the minister had provided “clear directives, mandates and terms of reference” to ensure that all processes are completed in a timely manner.

Nwankwoeze noted that the vetting teams were tasked with addressing the longstanding challenges related to the titling of mass housing plots.

He said, “With this approach, all subscribers of unit houses in the mass housing programmes will be captured and given titles for their individual housing units.”

While highlighting the government’s commitment, he added that measures have been put in place to resolve any lingering issues regarding land allocation regularisation and the titling of homes delivered in various mass housing programmes.

The director described the establishment of the teams as a significant step towards sanitising land administration and restoring public confidence in the management of land assets within the territory.

“The minister has the political will to drive this to a logical conclusion,” he said.

Nwankwoeze, while calling for collaboration from developers and prospective titleholders, reassured stakeholders that the FCT administration is dedicated to delivering effective services in line with the principles of President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.’
