Students’ Body Commends IGP For Securing Extradition Of Killaboi

The Progressive Students Movement (PSM) Nigeria Chapter has commended the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, for successfully extraditing Benjamin Nnayereugo, alias Killaboi, from Doha, Qatar, to face prosecution for the alleged murder of Augusta Onuwabhagbe, a 21-year-old first-class student at Lead City University in Ibadan, Oyo State..

In a statement issued on Tuesday, PSM president Comrade Okereafor Bestman praised Egbetokun’s leadership and reforms, which he said align with international best practices.

“This great achievement will reshape Nigeria’s image among the community of nations and serve as a deterrent to criminal elements,” Bestman noted.

The extradition was facilitated by the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Abuja, under the leadership of Assistant Inspector-General Olaolu Adegbite.

PSM lauded Adegbite’s professionalism and integrity, crediting his experience in international policing collaborations for the operation’s success.

The group also praised the INTERPOL Annex in Lagos, led by Commissioner of Police Olubode Ojajuni, for its dedication and proactive approach.

PSM urged the public to support the Nigeria Police, INTERPOL, and other security agencies in combating domestic and transnational crime, including Ponzi schemes that have defrauded many Nigerians.

The group expressed optimism that ongoing efforts would lead to the recovery of lost funds and the prosecution of those responsible.

The statement also called for intensified action against criminal elements in regions like Benue and Plateau, which have faced persistent attacks.

PSM accused “mischievous elements” of sponsoring violence for political gain to discredit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, urging them to desist. The group expressed confidence that such perpetrators would soon face justice.
