Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, has expressed the optimism that the planned Livestock Service Centre would attract both local and foreign investors when completed.

The governor gave the assurance yesterday during a familiarisation visit to the 200-hectare land allocated for the project at Galambi Cattle Ranch in Galambi village in Bauchi local government area.

Mohammed, who reiterated his administration’s commitment to the successful construction of the centre, revealed that work would soon commence at the allocated site for the establishment of a modern one-stop shop for the livestock industry in the state.

Represented by the commissioner for Livestock Development, Dr Bala Musa, the governor emphasised that the construction of the Livestock Service Centre is a top priority for the state government.

He further explained that the government is collaborating with the National Coordination Office and the World Bank to ensure the successful implementation of the project in the state.

He urged the surrounding communities to support the initiative, adding that the centre would create job opportunities for youths and bring significant development to the area.

Earlier, the state project coordinator of the L-PRES Project, Alhaji Musa Adamu, represented by the Animal Health Services officer, Dr Samuel Maina, noted that Bauchi State was the only state to receive 200 hectares of land graciously approved and allocated for such purpose by the governor.

He also stated that the project has nearly completed all requirements set by the National Coordination Office for the implementation of the Livestock Service Centre.

Receiving the commissioner and his team at the site, the general manager of the Galambi Cattle Ranch, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad, led them on a tour of the area, disclosing that farmers currently using parts of the land for farming activities would be relocated to other designated areas.
