The Kogi State Police Command has urged the general public to ignore the misleading trending video on social media platforms by one Oma Amina TV purporting that Danjuma Sule, a bus driver, was killed at a checkpoint by the police along Okene road.

SP William Ovye Aya, the command’s police public relations officer, stated, “The Command wishes to state that the video is not just the figment of the author’s imagination but false, misleading, and highly mischievous.”

According to him, the information being reported on social media did not happen in Kogi State. He said that it is an old story that has been trending since 12 March 2025.

“The author attributes the incident to having happened in Kogi State simply because the deceased is an indigene of Kogi State. This is the handiwork of mischief makers who are determined to create fear and tension in the state.

“The author ought to have mentioned the specific location where the purported incident happened, rather than being vague. More so no indication of when the said incident occurred.”

The command urged the general public and the citizens of Kogi State to disregard such mischievous information and go about their lawful businesses and activities.
