Receiving the Ghanaian delegation led by the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Mr Eric Opoku, at the Cabinet office on Friday evening on behalf of the governor, Nasir Idris, deputy governor of Kebbi State, Senator Abubakar Umar Tafida, commended them for their interest in agricultural partnership.

Tafida told the delegation that Kebbi State is open to partnerships with Ghana, especially in agriculture. He said the state was blessed with solid mineral deposits such as gold and lithium that are ready for exploration.

He added that Kebbi State has also maintained its position as Nigeria’s leading producer of rice and wheat with year-round arable land and abundant water bodies.

Earlier, Ghanaian Minister of Food and Agriculture Mr Eric Opokku disclosed that they are in Kebbi State on a strategic visit to study Nigeria’s achievements in rice production.
