He made the call while addressing stakeholders during a familiarisation visit to Kafanchan Area Command in Kaduna yesterday.

He said the purpose of his visit was to seek the cooperation of all stakeholders in the quest for enduring peace in the area, as the rainy season begins.

According to him, Governor Uba Sani and the Inspector General of Police want peace to prevail, hence the need for everyone to be on board to ensure this is achieved.

“I charge you all to shun all tendencies that have the capacity of causing any breach of peace as the farming season begins,” he stated.

The police commissioner also encouraged communities in the area to form peace committees to constantly discuss ways to forestall unwholesome developments.

He noted that God did not make a mistake by keeping people together irrespective of their differences, urging them to uphold the sanctity of life.

Mohammed stressed the need for people to create an enabling environment for the state government’s efforts at wooing investors to materialise by promoting peace at all times.

In his remarks, the chairman of Jemaa local government area, Mr Peter Tanko, appreciated the commissioner for his peace-building efforts in the area.

Tanko reiterated the council’s commitment to leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of peace.

A cross section of other stakeholders, including religious and community leaders, harped on the need to pursue peace at all cost to increase the pace of development in the state. (NAN)
