The National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN) has expressed deep condolences to the families of three civilians who lost their lives in a hit-and-run incident in Wuse 2, Abuja.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the speaker of NYAN, Amb. Usman Bashir Shagari, described the incident, which reportedly involved a vehicle belonging to the Federal Fire Service, as a tragic and unacceptable loss of three innocent lives.
“The Assembly condemns in strong terms the reckless hit-and-run that claimed the lives of three innocent Nigerians. It is a sad and disturbing event that must not be ignored,” Shagari said.
He called for an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident, urging the government to ensure that those responsible are held accountable and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Shagari also emphasized the need for improved emergency response systems in the Federal Capital Territory, saying that delays in ambulance services often contribute to preventable fatalities during accidents.
“We pray for the departed souls and extend our heartfelt condolences to the families affected by this tragic loss,” the statement read.
