The project manager, Dymitry Denysenko, pledged to deliver the project before the agreed deadline of the end of this month.

According to him, work at the project site is progressing steadily in the face of complex engineering challenges.

He expressed hope that the road network, when completed, would bring a lasting solution to Lagos’ traffic congestion.

The project would serve commuters along the Ikeja-Ojota corridor, enhance connectivity, and drive economic activity in the area.

The Lagos-Opebi-Mende Road project is one of the many projects being undertaken by the company, which Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has tagged as one of his legacy projects.

Julius Berger is rounding off its work at the site with unwavering resolve to deliver a bridge and road network to bring respite to commuters in the region.

The scope of the contract agreed upon in 2022 included the reconstruction of Opebi Road, the construction of Odo Alaro Bridge, the construction of Odo Alaro Underpass 1, the construction of Odo Alaro Underpass 2, the construction of deck on pile link bridges, and the reconstruction of the Maryland U-turn.

The project manager updated the status of the project, saying that the reconstruction of Opebi Road, the construction of Odo Alaro Bridge, and the construction of Odo Alaro Underpass 1 are 100 percent completed.

Similarly, the construction of Odo Alaro Underpass 2 is almost completed, while the deck on the pile link bridges and the reconstruction of the Maryland U-turn are already completed.

The project has an agreed road length of 4.52km, a pile depth of 40m, 1,500 bored piles, and a bridge structure of 640m in length.

Another project the company is handling in Lagos is the reconstruction of Idumagbo Avenue, Adeniji Adele, Ojo Giwa, Oroyinyin, Okoya, Moshalashi, and Iga-Iduganran Streets in the Lagos Island local government area. In this part of the state, daily vehicular traffic has posed a serious threat to the flow of goods, services, and commerce.

The regional manager, Technical, Region West, Christl Thomas, vowed that the company would continue to build and rebuild road infrastructures that would stand the test of time.
