Gunmen Kidnap APC Chairman In Ondo

Gunmen suspected to be Kidnappers have abducted the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 5 in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the chairman, Hon. Nelson Adepoyigi, was abducted on Monday when he was parking his car around 10 pm.

A source informed LEADERSHIP that the assailants stormed the compound of the victim, pounced on him with sticks before whisking him away.

It was also gathered that his wife, who heard his cries for help, rushed out but found out that the hoodlums had already taken him away.

The source further hinted that the abductors had contacted the family of the politician, demanding N100 million before he would be released.

The state commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed that his men had launched a manhunt for the kidnappers and assured that efforts were ongoing to secure Adepoyigi’s safe release.

Also, the state Police Command confirmed his abduction.

 

 

 

Speaking through its Public Relations Officer( PPRO), Olushola Ayanlade, said the politician was kidnapped at the entrance of his Farm.

 

 

 

He said, “I can confirm to you that the chairman of APC ward five was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo road.

 

 

 

“At the receipt of the report, the DPO Ifon, in collaboration with the hunters, local VGN and Nigerian Army personnel, have launched a manhunt for the suspects.”
