The First Ladies of Africa Impact & Resilience (FLAIR) Summit is set to bring together leading women in business, policy, and governance from across the continent to amplify achievements and drive a unified vision for women’s advancement and youth empowerment.

The summit which will be convened June, is in partnership with the London Stock Exchange, the Financial Times, and key public and private stakeholders, and aims to foster economic development and cross-sectoral collaboration to address Africa’s most pressing challenges.

Co-founded by Dr. Yvonne Thompson, a British business leader and founder of the WinTrade Global Women in Business Network, FLAIR will serve as a platform for Africa’s First Ladies to unveil transformative initiatives focusing on education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and leadership—each aimed at empowering women and young people.

The three-day event, set to begin on June 16, will bring together decision-makers, investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers for high-level discussions. Among the core collaborators are Elevate Africa, a nonprofit reshaping African narratives through media, and Compass Global, a consultancy bridging African businesses with international markets.

The summit aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and six pivotal United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing intra-African trade and industrial partnerships through the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). Organizers say the gathering will serve as a global rallying point to foster measurable outcomes and cross-border advancements.

A key highlight will be the presence and leadership of Africa’s First Ladies, who will present country-led solutions and unveil joint action plans to accelerate inclusive growth across the continent. Their participation signals a shift in pan-African collaboration, where First Ladies assume an active role beyond ceremonial functions, contributing to policy development and grassroots impact.

According to Thompson, “FLAIR 2025 is more than a conference; it is a continental call to action. African women are already leading businesses, communities, and governments. Now, we’re amplifying their voices globally to create lasting solutions for Africa’s future.”

The summit will explore critical themes, including redefining women’s empowerment, industrialization, digital innovation, sustainability, and public-private collaboration. Special focus will be placed on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and regional integration as drivers of economic transformation.

Participants will also visit key institutions such as the House of Lords, the House of Commons, and the London Stock Exchange to strengthen trade, investment, and diplomatic ties between Africa and global partners.
