BCA Awards: ‘Number Of Africa’s Business Books Modest Compared To Emerging Businesses’

Chairman of the Business Council of Africa (BCA), Arnold Ekpe, has said the number of business books published in Africa is quite modest compared to the numbers of remarkable businesses springing out and across the continent.

Ekpe spoke at the unveiling of the BCA Business Book Awards 2025 Shortlist recently. The award now in its third edition aims at telling Africa’s businesses success stories that emphasize bold entrepreneurship, resilient leadership and strategic transformation across the continent.

“Africa is leading in many sectors, from tech to fashion, film, finance, and mining, yet our stories remain largely untold,” said Ekpe.

By convening trailblazing authors, visionary publishing and influential business leaders to honour Africa’s dynamic growth journey; not to mention awarding top three winners the cash prize of $10,000, $5,000 and $3,000 respectively, BCA aims to change the narrative, ensuring that African entrepreneurs are telling their stories themselves, and these stories accessible to African citizens as a motivating factor.
