The Bet9ja Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Nigeria’s leading sports betting company, is making remarkable strides in its mission to foster stronger and more resilient communities throughout the nation. Since its official launch in July 2023, the Foundation has successfully launched 206 projects across 33 states and the Federal Capital Territory, positively impacting over 65,000 Nigerians, particularly in the South West, South South, and South East geopolitical zones.
As part of its “Bigger Space, Bigger Impact” campaign, the Foundation recently hosted members of the media at its newly inaugurated office in CashCraft Tower on Murtala Muhammed Road, Yaba, Lagos. This engagement provided an opportunity to showcase the new office space, offer partners firsthand insights into the facility, and share the Foundation’s vision for deeper community engagement and a broader impact.
During the media event, Executive Director Ada Cuomo highlighted the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to implementing sustainable interventions in five key areas: education, healthcare, community infrastructure, sports development, and youth empowerment. She emphasized that the Foundation aims to ensure every project delivers lasting value and is tailored to the unique needs of each community it serves.
Since its inception, the Bet9ja Foundation has awarded 100 undergraduate scholarships to students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds attending public universities. Its healthcare initiatives include medical outreach programs and donations of essential health equipment to underserved communities. Additionally, community infrastructure projects, such as solar-powered streetlights and water supply systems, have significantly improved safety and hygiene standards in many rural areas.
The Foundation’s impact in the three geopolitical zones is particularly notable, with the South West benefiting from 110 projects, the South South from 28 projects, and the South East from 26 projects. These initiatives encompass free health missions, education drives, community renovations, and programs focused on youth engagement. Across Nigeria, the Foundation has also supported sports development by equipping teams like the Nigerian Para-Powerlifting squad and promoting grassroots tournaments.
Youth empowerment initiatives remain a cornerstone of the Foundation’s mission, with programs such as the Graduate Employability and Enterprise Summit and the Young Executive Program offering digital and entrepreneurial training to young Nigerians. Collaborations with local NGOs and the strategic deployment of Agents of Change ensure that projects are community-driven and impactful, aided by a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to track outcomes and maintain accountability.
Looking ahead, the Foundation aims to extend its reach across all 36 states within the next year. It encourages community members to continue submitting proposals for support, reinforcing its mission to leave no one behind.
The Bet9ja Foundation is committed to creating a lasting legacy of opportunity and inclusion for Nigerians nationwide. Through its expanding footprint, transparent processes, and people-first philosophy, it is demonstrating that meaningful change occurs when purpose and action align.
