The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Musa, on Thursday, reassured residents of the North-East Region of Improved security despite recent attacks by notorious Boko Haram terrorists in Borno and other areas of the Northeast.

Gen. Musa stated that the military would rout out the Boko Haram terrorist group from all their enclaves and ensure that peace is restored in all parts of the North East region, and Borno State in particular, which had suffered the most from recent attacks.

General Musa made this known during an assessment visit to Giwa Barracks, where the army’s bomb storage facility recently erupted with an explosion due to what the military described as an excessive heat wave.

According to the CDS, the military is more than ever ready to carry out its responsibilities of defending all territories within the nation, saying that no stone would be left unturned in routing out Boko Haram terrorists.

“What is happening now is a trying phase. We shall get over it,” Gen. Musa said.

While addressing troops at the Giwa Barracks, General Musa urged them to do their best to discharge their responsibilities, noting that the welfare of all military personnel across the country would continue to receive the desired attention.

“Always remember why you’re here, do your best. We’re trying to meet your needs, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing his best to support you.

“Protect where you’re supposed to protect. Your weapons must be well secured and ready to act at every point,” Gen Musa said.
