Former federal lawmaker for Kogi West, Senator Dino Melaye, has berated veteran entertainer cum activist, Charles Oputa, popularly called Charly Boy, after the latter criticised him over his ‘flashy lifestyle’.
Melaye posted a video earlier in the week on social media, boasting about his uniqueness, “There’s no one else like me. I’m limited edition”.
In response to the post, Charly Boy took swipes at the former lawmaker, suggesting that his constant public display of wealth may signify depression.
“This shows that even in the midst of luxury/obscene affluence, it is possible to be clinically depressed.
“Not all mental illnesses are discernible,” Charly Boy said.
But, in a video shared on Thursday via Facebook, Melaye blasted Charly Boy, claiming he was using his name to chase relevance.
“Who be Charly Boy, is it the name of an animal place or thing?
“He wanted to use my name to gain popularity because his destiny has been thrown inside freezer.
“I heard he has a leaking roof but he has no money to fix it. He places a whole big bike in front of his house like a statue and he doesn’t see that as a show-off,” Dino Melaye said sarcastically.
