Police Arrest Wanted Kidnapper, Cattle Rustler In Nasarawa

Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested a notorious kidnapper, cattle rustler and armed robber identified as Abashe Gizo in Lafia local government area of the state.

Gizo who has been on the police’s wanted list was nabbed while carrying out a transaction at Shinge Market by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) following a credible and actionable intelligence on Saturday.

Spokesman of the Police Command, SP Ramhan Nansel who disclosed this in a statement said, “The suspect has been on the Command’s wanted list for an extended period due to multiple offences including kidnapping and cattle rustling.

“Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crimes and led officers to his hideout at Ruwan Baka village, Doma LGA, where one AK-49 rifle (Breach No. 453144) and a magazine were recovered in his possession.”

The development came a few days after the arrest of Fatima Salisu, who was intercepted while transporting a cache of ammunition intended for criminal elements from Doma to Katsina State.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed has reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to routing out crime and ensuring the safety and security of all residents across Nasarawa State.
