The executive chairman of the Yobe State Pilgrims Commission, Alhaji Mai Aliyu, has urged the intending pilgrims from the state to be law-abiding while they are in Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj exercise.

The chairman made the call during their departure to Saudi Arabia at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Maiduguri, Borno State.

He said that, as good ambassadors of the state and the country in general, the pilgrims are expected to avoid any act that could tarnish the state’s good image.

According to him, Yobe pilgrims are always known for their good conduct, right from the time they arrive in Saudi Arabia until they resume their journey back to Nigeria.

He also encouraged them to focus on their acts of worship in the holy land of Mecca, emphasizing the city’s sanctity as the resting place of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Aliyu said the present administration had provided all that is required by the State Pilgrims Commission to ensure a hitch-free Hajj exercise, stressing that this has been the bedrock of all the success recorded in the previous Hajj operations.

He advised them to avoid unnecessary noise or disputes and to treat one another with respect, keeping in mind the spiritual significance of their journey.

Mai Aliyu prayed to Almighty Allah for their protection and safe return in good health to reunite with their families and the large Muslim Ummah.

He called on the pilgrims to pray for the state and Nigeria at large due to the recent insecurity in the country. He also commended the state governor, Mai Mala Buni for supporting the commission.
