The Niger State government is set to construct 100 standard Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs ), with 20 already completed, and is making massive investments in education and infrastructure.

The commissioner of information, Hon Binta Mamman, disclosed this yesterday while briefing journalists on Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s two-year administration.

He said, “The administration initiated the construction of 100 standard primary healthcare centres, with over 20 completed and inaugurated.”

Hon Mamman also disclosed that the construction and refurbishing of tertiary health care centres, employment of additional healthcare personnel, and improved welfare have been undertaken, signalling a strong commitment to addressing healthcare delivery challenges in the state.

The commissioner of information also stated that “With a vision to make Niger State the ‘Massachusetts of Nigeria, ‘ the government has invested over N1.3 billion in furniture, upgraded learning environments, and prioritised increased teacher welfare in addition to employing new teachers across the state.”

“Two years ago, the Bago administration came into office with a bold vision, to transform Niger State into a modern, economically productive, and socially inclusive entity. Today, we can say, without exaggeration, that the vision is unfolding with purpose and precision,” she added.

On urban renewal and Infrastructure, Hon Mamman said massive road constructions, bridge works, and strategic urban remodelling projects were underway in Minna, Suleja, Bida, Kontagora, and other key urban centres across the local government areas in the state.
