As part of activities marking the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, the Queen Adenike Tejuosho (QAT) Foundation has empowered 30 vulnerable women in Babansura community, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State with N100,000 each.

The empowerment programme, held on Thursday at Government Secondary School, Babansura, also featured an interfaith prayer session for peace, national progress, and President Tinubu’s leadership success.

Islamic cleric Malam Abubakar Liman and Pastor Gabriel Luka jointly led the prayers, which organisers described as a symbol of unity and shared responsibility for Nigeria’s future.

Founder of the QAT Foundation, Dr Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, said the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration, adding that women’s economic empowerment is key to sustainable national development.

Represented by the foundation’s Kaduna coordinator, Dr Zainab Danlami, Tejuosho reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to tackling poverty, illiteracy, and social exclusion, especially among women and other vulnerable groups.

“Today’s programme is our modest contribution to President Tinubu’s national rebirth agenda. The 30 women receiving N100,000 each will have a new lease of life, and we trust they will use the funds productively,” she said.

In their separate remarks, the two clerics urged Nigerians to support the current administration through prayers and constructive engagement, emphasising the need for peace, justice, and inclusiveness.

Some beneficiaries who spoke to journalists expressed gratitude for the support, describing the grant as timely and impactful.

“I will use the money to expand my petty trade. God bless the QAT Foundation and President Tinubu for remembering us at the grassroots,” said Mrs Grace Duniya, one of the recipients.

The QAT Foundation has undertaken several humanitarian initiatives across the country. In 2024, it awarded scholarships to 370 students to celebrate the first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s 64th birthday.
