Amosun Felicitates With Veteran Journalist, Tola Adeniyi At 80

Former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Monday joined the league of eminent Nigerians to felicitate with Akogun Tola Adeniyi, who celebrated his 80th birthday last Thursday.

In a letter of felicitations dated May 31, 2025, forwarded to Akogun Adeniyi and personallsigned by himself, Amosun described the 80th birthday celebration of the Apata Onigegewura of Egbaland as “a tribute to his exceptional accomplishments” as a prolific writer, columnist, literary icon, cultural artist, and journalist.

In the letter, titled, “80 HEARTY Cheers To A Prolific Writer, Columnist”, a copy of which was obtained by LEADERSHIP in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, Amosun declared that Adeniyi has left indelible marks on the Nigeria’s media landscape through his columns; “Aba Saheed” for which according to him, has remained “a powerful testament” to the journalistic excellence of the celebrant.

“Your impactful career at the Daily Times, especially through your byline and incisive column, “Aba Saheed”, remains a powerful testament to your journalistic excellence. I also acknowledge Your thought-provoking contributions in other leading public including the Tribune and Punch newspapers.

“I join your family, friends, and admirers in celebrating this significant occasion and in expressing gratitude to the Almighty God fir his enduring grace upon your life. May the good Lord continue to bless you with good health and many more fruitful years ahead.”
