The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chairman of the Unity and Reconciliation Committee (URC) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Jibrin Wowo, has praised President Bola Tinubu for the significant advancements in democracy during his second anniversary in office.

Wowo commended the President for his visionary leadership over the past two years, stating, “Your Excellency, but for the audacious steps you have taken, the country would not have witnessed the level of changes in growth, in the economy, education, and infrastructure, among others.”

He specifically highlighted the recent infrastructural developments in the FCT, noting that the completion of the Mabushi Bridge has alleviated the commuting issues faced by residents traveling from Zuba, Kubwa, and Bwari to the Central Business District.

“I commend the president for being courageous. Two years down the line, our party, the APC in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), can tell you that the temporal pains experienced by commuters have been eased,” Wowo said.

Additionally, he acknowledged improvements at the Nicon Junction axis, which has enhanced access to Gwarinpa.

“These infrastructural deployments by the President through the FCT Minister, Nyesome Wike, came from an audacious belief in growth and development, easing movements in the FCT and reducing passenger time to and from work daily,” he said.

The chairman also applauded the FCT minister, Nyesome Wike for his proactive approach, urging the President to remove bureaucratic hurdles that hinder progress.

“The Minister, Barr. Nyesome Wike, who came ready to work, has justified his mandate and transformed major arteries of the city. I say congratulations, Mr. President, congratulations to the APC, and congratulations to our diligent FCT Minister,” said Wowo.

While celebrating these developments, he urged that the benefits extend to communities like Gishiri, which are affected by the ongoing projects.

Wowo expressed his appreciation for the swift compensation provided to families displaced by these initiatives, saying, “I commend you for not leaving the people behind in the area of compensation.”

He also noted Wike’s dissatisfaction with how the resettlements were initially handled and his insistence on ensuring full compensation for affected residents.

“Only a progressive government can tow this populist line, anchored on the broken chain and symbol of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Wowo stated.

Wowo further emphasised that the ongoing infrastructure drive, led by Wike, is already making a impact and facilitating the reconciliation work of the committee.

“Your programmes and policies, which are being felt by the city and its people, have made our task in the committee to reconcile our members easier,” he said.
