President Bola Tinubu has assured that the country was on the path to renewed prosperity as his administration’s economic and governance reforms begin to yield positive results.

In his 2025 Eid-el-Kabir message to the nation, President Tinubu congratulated Nigerian Muslims and the global Muslim Ummah on the sacred occasion, describing the festival as a moment of deep reflection, faith and devotion.

“Eid-el-Kabir represents the high point of the sacred first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, a period filled with opportunities for acts of worship and good deeds,” the President said. “It is a time for gratitude to Almighty Allah for His countless mercies upon us as individuals and a nation.”

The President urged citizens to look beyond the outward celebration and embrace the true significance of the festival through the values of sacrifice, obedience, selflessness, and submission to the will of Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and taught by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

“To truly honour Eid, we must embody these virtues,” Tinubu stated, calling on Nigerians to let the season renew their dedication to peace, unity, compassion, and national progress.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s current socio-economic trajectory, President Tinubu acknowledged the hardship caused by recent reforms, but expressed confidence that the bold steps taken were beginning to pay off.

He noted that the country had come through difficult times and was now entering a phase of hope and recovery.

“Though the journey has not been easy, and some doubted our direction, the resilience of public and private sector leaders, along with the steadfast support of most Nigerians, is yielding results,” the President said. “I assure you that the toughest days are behind us. We are entering a new era of renewed hope and prosperity that we promised two years ago.”

He added that while the nation may not yet be where it aspires to be, the positive movement in key economic indicators demonstrates that progress is underway and that Nigerians will soon begin to feel the impact.
“Our reforms are gaining traction. The ultimate objective of these reforms is not just to improve statistics but to transform lives and set Nigeria firmly on the path to sustainable development,” he said. “There are no quick fixes, but we are committed to repairing the foundations of our economy once and for all.”

Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said was crafted to deliver prosperity to every Nigerian.

He stressed that his government would continue to act in the best interest of the people, ensuring that the results of ongoing reforms translate into tangible improvements in daily life.

The President also called on Nigerians to embody the spirit of Eid by showing generosity and care to others regardless of faith or background.

“Let us care for one another’s well-being during this season and always,” he urged.

Recalling recent events, Tinubu expressed sadness over the flooding that submerged Mokwa Town in Niger State on May 28, which led to loss of lives and properties.

He called for prayers for the departed and their families, and for collective national action to support affected communities.

“In this instance, I recall recent sad developments in our country, particularly the Wednesday, May 28 heavy flooding, which submerged the market town of Mokwa, Niger State,” he said. “Let us join hands with the government to bring succour to the people of Mokwa.”

Tinubu also urged Nigerians to continue praying for security personnel who risk their lives daily to protect the nation, and for leaders at all levels to be guided by wisdom and integrity.

“Let us pray for our leaders at all levels and our country. Let us pray for peace in our tumultuous world of troubles and uncertainties,” he added.

He concluded with a message of compassion, unity, and shared humanity, praying that the blessings of the festival multiply in the lives of all Nigerians.

“May those who have more remember those in need, sharing kindness and support as true brothers and sisters. Let the virtues of perseverance, sacrifice, loyalty, faith, and shared humanity bind us closer,” Tinubu said.

He said, “May the joy and blessings of Eid-ul-Adha multiply in our lives and the life of our great nation. May Almighty Allah accept our worship and devotion as acts of Ibadah, and may His blessings be with us always.”
