The police, in a statement by the command public relations officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the announcement is to further re-assure the citizens of the state the proactive security mechanisms put in place by the command to guarantee safety of lives and property of the entire citizenry before, during and after this festivity.

“It is however pertinent to advise the people of the State to be security conscious and comport themselves in accordance with the provision of the law.

“The commissioner of police CP Muhammad Umar Abbah thereby advises the people of the state to celebrate the upcoming Eid-El Kabir peacefully and avoid any thing that will jeopardize the relative peace being enjoyed in the state as the Police will decisively deal with anyone found wanting in this regard.”

While felicitating with Muslims, a governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, called for a continuous support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu by Nigerians irrespective of their religious and political leanings.

Babayemi pointed out that as tight as the nation’s situation might be, Tinubu has been navigating it in the right direction in the last two years of his administration.

LEADERSHIP checks showed that despite the hike in the cost of ram, goat, cow as the case may be and soup ingredients, Muslims in Osun State stepped up their preparation for the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir this year.
