Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji (Dr.) Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, has called on Muslims to support the underprivileged during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
He made the appeal after the Rak’ah Eid prayer at the Eid ground in Bauchi yesterday, saying such gestures would foster a sense of belonging and unity within the Muslim Ummah.
He stated that the call was necessary in light of the current economic hardships affecting many families, stressing the importance of helping one another, particularly during festive periods.
Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu also commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his visionary leadership and consistent support for the people and traditional institutions across the state.
The emir further urged farmers to heed expert advice during this year’s farming season to ensure a bumper harvest.
Delivering the pre-Khutbah sermon at the Eid ground, Dr. Abdul-Hadi Abubakar urged Muslims to adhere strictly to acts of worship that align with the teachings of Islam.
He warned that any form of worship not in accordance with the practices of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is not accepted in Islam.
Dr. Abdul-Hadi also called on all stakeholders, especially parents and religious leaders to work collaboratively in ensuring the sound moral and religious upbringing of children.
After leading the two Rak’ah prayer, Imam Bala Ahmad cautioned those performing sacrificial rites against selling any part of the animal, in line with Islamic injunctions.
He also encouraged them to distribute the meat generously, especially to the needy in their communities, to enable everyone to partake in the celebration.
In his Sallah message, the Bauchin-Bauchi, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammadu, called on Muslims to embody the lessons preached by scholars during the Eid gathering, emphasising love, unity and compassion.
