The Senator representing Niger South, Peter Ndalikali Jiya, has donated three trailers of cement (90 tons) to the Mokwa community as part of the efforts to rebuild the areas recently washed away by floods.

Senator Ndalikali Jiya said the donation aimed to facilitate the construction of new homes for resettlement, particularly for flood disaster victims.

The senator described the humanitarian crisis as catastrophic and emphasised the need for collective support.

He also made cash donations to the victims, prayed for those who lost their lives, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

Receiving Senator Ndalile Mokwa (the traditional head of Mokwa), Alhaji Muhammadu Saba, lauded the senator for donating three trailers of cement to flood victims and for being the first to donate an initial N2 million to immediately solve the problem of the people, saying that the donation was a blessing to the community.

The Ndalile, who conducted the senator’s round while on a sympathy visit to his palace, the IDP Camp, and other flood-affected areas, said Senator Ndalikali Jiya was the first to donate ₦2 million to flood victims, describing it as “a blessing in disguise.”

The monarch noted that the donation helped restore essential services, including electricity, and inspired other philanthropists to provide relief.

The royal father highlighted the senator’s commitment to his constituents’ welfare and advised those who criticise the senator for donating N2 million on social media to desist and use the medium responsibly.
