A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Sam Onuigbo, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu is an uncommon leader and an indisputable beacon of Nigeria’s democracy.

Onuigbo, who represented Ikwuano/Umuahia South/North in the Lower Chamber, applauded Tinubu for his boldness and the sacrifices he had made for the country from the days of National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) to enthrone and entrench democracy and good governance in the polity.

In an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday ahead of the commemoration of Democracy Day today, he said, “Tinubu is an indisputable beacon of democracy. He joined NADECO in making sacrifices for Nigeria to restore democracy. In 1999, he was elected governor of Lagos State and he brought hope and transformation through democratic leadership and positioned the state as a mega city in the whole world.”

The former lawmaker, who represents the South East in the North East Development Commission (NEDC), commended Tinubu for working conscientiously to sustain Nigeria’s democracy to the present level.
Onuigbo said, “This is a man who worked for the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari and some state governors and patiently waited till 2023 to ascend the presidency.”

Consequently, Onuigbo appealed to the people of the southeast and other Nigerians to re-elect Tinubu in 2027.
