An eyewitness, who identified himself as Okon, told our correspondent that the accident occurred at the Mbierebe Market intersection when the motorcyclist carrying two passengers failed to apply caution while navigating his way from the adjoining street into the major road.

“The two passengers died on the spot but the driver died in the hospital where he was taken for emergency,” Okon said.

The bus, according to him, was carrying supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Victor Attah International Airport, on the outskirts of Uyo for Governor Umo Eno’s reception after his arrival from France where he attended the United Nations (UN) Climate Summit.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the state sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Paul James pledged to give details after confirmation.
