The Nigeria Customs Broadcasting Network (NCBN) has initiated discussions for a strategic partnership with LEADERSHIP Group Limited to promote national development through collaborative media engagement.

The delegation, led by NCBN’s chief executive officer Jamilu Yusuf, stated during a courtesy visit to the LEADERSHIP Group headquarters in Abuja that the proposed media collaboration aimed to project a positive image of Nigeria and enhance institutional cooperation in today’s interconnected, collaboration-driven economy.

“We are here to explore how we can work together as media organisations—radio, TV, and print—to add value to each other,” he said, “Our focus is to improve the image of Nigeria, the Customs Service and our partners, especially as we look to share content and support each other’s outreach goals.”

Yusuf emphasised that the goal of the meeting was to establish a “classical organisation” capable of synergising with various media platforms across different regions and audiences, while also recognising the unique mandates and audiences each entity serves.

In his response, the vice chairman of LEADERSHIP Group Limited, Chief Mike Okpere, welcomed the NCBN delegation and commended the initiative.

He noted that LEADERSHIP Group, now 20 years old, shared a similar vision of national development.

“We believe in Nigeria, and that belief is central to our mission,” Okpere said, “Your visit is timely, as it aligns with our ongoing efforts to deepen partnerships and contribute to the collective image of our nation. Though our media ecosystems differ, the opportunities for collaboration are extensive.”

Okpere also highlighted the annual LEADERSHIP Awards as a key platform for engaging with Nigerians across the country—especially the youth that continue to demonstrate strong belief in Nigeria’s future.

Also speaking, LEADERSHIP Group’s managing director, Muazu Elazeh, expressed openness with the proposed partnership and encouraged the submission of a formal proposal to outline specific areas of cooperation.

“We are passionate about anything that promotes Nigeria and our region,” Elazeh said, “If there’s an opportunity for collaboration, we’re very open to it. Present your proposal, and we will sit with our team to explore ways to work together.”
