The Abia State government has launched a transformative initiative tagged “Lunch Hour Mentorship Programme (LHMP)”, aimed at building capacities in civil servants.
Unveiling the LHMP in Umuahia, the state capital, the head of service (HoS), Benson Ojeikere, said it instil professionalism and foster excellence within the service.
He said, “This programme is carefully designed to impart critical knowledge, advanced skills, professionalism, and unwavering integrity to civil servants.”
Speaking further, the HoS explained that the LHMP will leverage the expertise of seasoned civil servants who will serve as mentors.
“These mentors will provide guidance, share insights, and inspire their colleagues to execute their duties with competence, confidence, and dedication to public service excellence”
“On their part, the mentees are expected to maintain the highest level of professionalism and reaffirm the government’s commitment to giving them their pride of place.”
He called on the civil servants “to embrace the LHMP and to rise to the challenge of transforming the service into a world-class institution that exemplifies efficiency and accountability”.
