Dr Emma Ohakim, President of the group, gave the advice during the service of songs organised for the late Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Charles Ihua-Maduenyi, in Abuja.

He said that it was important for christians to shun violence as living peacefully would foster progress and development in the country

Ohakim, while praying for God to comfort the family of the departed, also called on Christians to have good relationship with all around them.

“The late Charles was a friend of all, a generous man, someone that came in handy whenever there were issues.

“He had a very humble way of handling issues which everybody enjoyed and so we are going to miss him.

“You remember a man when the things he could do comes up and you don’t see him to do that, so we are going to miss him in a great way.

“But as christians, we believe that he is in the bossom of the Lord and we do not mourn because we believe that on the resurrection day, we will rise and meet to part no more.

“So it is a lesson for all to learn and amend our ways while living because a day will come when people will gather in our respect.

“By then, what will matter is what we will be remembered for at our own day, what will be counted for us as our legacies,” he said.

On his part, Mr Victor Ihua-Maduenyi, Brother to the deceased, said his brother would be greatly missed as he stood as the pillar of the family.

“Charles was like a pillar in our family, a leader to us and benefactor to members of the family and also outsiders.

“It is really a very painful loss to us but we are comforted by the fact people turned out to testify about his goodness.

“This has shown that his life time here on earth was impactful and we are grateful to God for it,” he said.

Similarly, Rev Hassan Dauda, Vicar of the church, described the deceased as a very humble man who used his position to impact positively in the lives of people.

“God gives us life, it is a gift and he expects us to live our lives profitably for the benefit of humanity and to the glory of God.

“We thank God for the life of the late Charles, he was active, he used his career, gift and advantage position to touch people positively,” he said.

Leadership reports that the late Ihua-Maduenyi, died on Sept. 5 at the age of 63. He will be buried at his home town in Ahoada-East Local Government Area of Rivers State on Oct. 21.
