ACP Owo gave the warming during a security summit held in Afikpo as part of his efforts to strengthen collaboration between the police and stakeholders in combating crimes and criminalities.

The summit had stakeholders from Afikpo and Edda local government areas, including traditional rulers, political leaders, Essa ruling council, the business community, bank managers and town union executives, among others in attendance.

Owo who reiterated the commitment of the Police in Afikpo Area Command to fight crimes called on the stakeholders and people of the area to join hands with the Police and other security agencies to achieve their primary mandates.

The Area Commander identified inter-communal and intra-communal clashes, jungle justice, cultism, drug abuse among other security challenges in the area.

He appealed to the people to volunteer useful information that will enable the police to curb any perceived threat to peace, law and order in the area.

The Area Commander assured that criminals in any part of Afikpo and Edda will not find it easy, pledging that the Police were ready to make their operations difficult.

Responding, the traditional ruler of Ebunwana Edda, Ezeogo Charles Azuenya and the Coordinator of Afikpo DC, Hon Raphael Okoronkwo commended the Area Commander for convening the meeting and assured of their readiness to partner with the Police to proactively combat crimes and maintain security.

They, however, appealed that officers and men of the Police in Afikpo Area Command should be responsive and professional in the discharge of their duties.
