The president of the 19 Northern States Association of Yoruba traditional rulers and Obas Sarkin Yarbawan of Funtuwa, Alhaji Murtala Adeleke, has advised security agencies in the country to beam searchlights on informants, stating that they are more dangerous than kidnappers and bandits.

He noted that informants are more dangerous than even kidnappers, penetrating and killing many people in our communities.

Alhaji Murtala explained that the informants are contributing to the development of kidnapping and cattle rustling across the Northern region, and if nothing is done about their activities, innocent people who possess nothing will be affected, he said.

He pointed out that the governors are working hard day and night to end the insecurity-related issues. However, the activities of the informants penetrating our communities are still major challenges.

He further said, ‘‘We are aware of what the governors are doing in that respect. What we need now is support from everybody on how to bring an end to the menace that affected economic activities and food production across the country.”

He called on parents and guardians to monitor their children’s issues. Any abnormalities observed ought to be corrected to arrest the situation before it’s too late, as we all know, charity begins at home.
