The body also enjoined Nigerians to rise with faith, courage, and unity to surmount the problem of insecurity and economic challenges confronting the country.

National President of the society, Prince Mosediq Kazeem (SAN) made the call in a message to commemorate the 1447 Hijrah.

Hijrah marks the commencement of Islamic new calendar year and is celebrated all over the Muslim World.

The society, however, hailed the federal government’s initiative to transform Federal Science Colleges into Vocational Technical Institutions with free tuition, describing the initiative as a meaningful step towards empowering the youths and addressing unemployment problem.

“Today, as we ponder and reflect on the significance of Hijrah, we cannot ignore the numerous trials facing our nation and our world – rising insecurity, economic hardship, unemployment, hunger, and the pervasive sense of uncertainty, particularly among our youth.

“Yet, just as the early Muslims (the Noble Prophet and his Companions) placed their trust in Allah, persevered and triumphed through unwavering faith and unity, we too must rise with faith, courage, and unity. Allah (SWT) says: “So verily, with hardship comes ease. Verily, with hardship comes ease.”(Qur’an 94:5-6),” Kazeem stated.

Reflecting on the lessons of Hijrah, the society noted that, “The Hijrah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), is not merely a migration and a historical event but a timeless lesson in resilience, sacrifice, trust in Allah, and unwavering faith.

“It marks a transition from hardship to hope, from oppression to freedom, and from disunity to the establishment of a just, compassionate, and God-centered society.”

Ansaru-ud-Deen charged Nigerians, especially the Muslims, to let the new Islamic year be a moment of renewed intention to strengthen their connection with Allah, to serve their communities, and to uphold the noble values of Islam which include justice, mercy, brotherhood, and sincere reliance on Allah.

“We call upon our leaders to prioritise justice, good governance, and equitable policies that alleviate poverty, create employment opportunities, and promote lasting peace.

“The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us: “The best of people are those who are most beneficial to people.” (Al-Muʻjam Al-Awsaṭ 5787).

“Let us therefore strive to be agents of benefit – by supporting education, vocational training, entrepreneurship, and community welfare. Together, we can revive hope, restore dignity, and build a more prosperous and united society.

“Let us revive the Sunnah of compassion, brotherhood, and mutual support. The Prophet said: “The believers, in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy, are like one body; if one organ complains, the whole body responds with wakefulness and fever,” it counseled.
