South West governors, family members, friends, and political associates converged on Lagos to celebrate with the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on his 60th birthday.
The event tagged, ‘Rhythm of worship with Adura’ had in attendance various gospel artistes, including Moses Bliss, Mercy Chinwo, Arugbo Ojo, Emma Oh My God, MFM Guitar Choir, as well as Dream Catchers Academy, among others, who took turns to perform to the delight of the attendees.
In his terse remark, elated Governor Sanwo-Olu, who marked the birthday with praises to God, appreciated almighty God for preserving his life and watching him through all his good and troubled times.
The celebrant noted that the theme, coined with his other name, “Aduragbemi,” shows the power of answered prayers in his life journey and thanked Lagosians for the privilege of serving them.
As I reflect on the past six decades, I am overwhelmed by the countless ways God has shown himself faithful. Through seasons of triumph and trials, moments of uncertainty and clarity, and the highs and lows of public service and private life. God has been my firm anchor. He has covered me, guided me, equipped me and above all, He has kept me.
The governor, basking in the celebration’s euphoria, added, ‘’I must also acknowledge the privilege of serving as the Governor of this extraordinary state. Lagos is not just a city. It is an idea, a pulse, a promise. Every day, I am reminded of my sacred duty in serving its people. I thank God for the opportunity, and rededicate myself, even at 60, to the cause of building a Lagos that works for all.
The event attracted dignitaries, including the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa, his Osun State counterpart, Ademola Adeleke, Ekiti’s Biodun Oyebanji and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, former Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, the state’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadiri Hamzat, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Musashiru Obasa and other Lawmakers,
