No Genuine APC Group Joined Atiku — APC G3

A support group of the ruling party, APC Grassroots Governance Group (APC G3), yesterday denied news reports that some of the groups had pitched tents with former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

A recent report credited to Atiku’s media office said All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups, led by one Ismaila Abu Ishaq, a former APC Presidential Campaign Council member, have collapsed their structures to support the aspirations of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku’s media office further said that the group will now be known as the “Coalition for Project Rescue Nigeria 2027.”

APC G3 in a press release said no genuine Support Group of the ruling party would move to the camp of Atiku who has a tendency to move from one party to another.

The group in a press release signed by the national coordinator, Hon. Amechi Chuks. Oyema said all APC Support Groups are standing behind President Bola Tinubu if he decides to go for a second term.

He said, “All APC Support Groups with our teeming members running into millions are solidly behind President Tinubu. We know the difficult situations he met in office.

“We are also in support of one Nigeria with rotation as a guiding principle. Atiku Abubakar has never respected the principles that guide one Nigeria, so no sound politician who believes in one Nigeria will queue behind him.

“Atiku believes in supremacy of one region over others. That is why he fought Obasanjo, Jonathan and now Tinubu. He had all the opportunities in 2015 to support GEJ and later become President, but his idea of regional superiority did not allow him to calculate well.

“President Tinubu has tried. The bold decisions he has taken is making Atiku and his coalition members to be afraid. They fear that fundamental changes being made will not satisfy their personal interest.

“Nigerians must beware of them. Genuine APC Support Groups are with Tinubu. We will continue to pray and support him to make Nigeria better for all of us,” APC G3 added.
