NSCDC Arrests 9 Suspected Vandals, Robbers In Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command has apprehended seven suspected vandals at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The suspects were arrested after vandalising and stealing 10 manhole metal cover belonging to Federal airport authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at the airport.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the command, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the arrest was made by personnel of the Corps deployed to the facility who later handed them over to the Anti-Vandalism Unit who interrogated them and led to the arrest of more suspects.

Abdullahi said the suspects involved in the crime include 20-year-old Abubaka Umar, Sadiq Jafar (23), Iliya Nasir(20), Abba Muhammad (18) and Al-ameen Idris (18).

Other accomplices include Shamsu Ibrahim Usman (35) and Yusuf Abdulmumini (25) of Daiba Rijiyar Lemo and Kurna Babban Layi, respectively.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects in the course of investigation are 10 manhole covers and one Mercedes Benz car.

In a related development, the Command also nabbed two suspected thieves – Haruna Musa (39) of Hotoro Kwanar Sabo, Nassarawa LGA and Sadiq Suleiman(27) of Rijiyar lemo, Ungoggo LGA.

The two suspects confessed to have committed theft at Kanawa Economic City, Dangwauro, kumbotso LGA by stealing four large solar panels in the market.

Abdullahi however noted that the Nine suspects will be charged to court by the Corps legal unit upon completion of investigations.
