LEADERSHIP gathered that the suspected bandits attacked Watari village via Rijau and its environs and rustled an unconfirmed number of cattle.

Given the bandits‘ attack, it was learnt that aerial bombardment was conducted from Sulupawa village via Rijau to the Kumbashi and Kakihum areas of Mariga, leaving them in disarray and with casualties.

The State Command‘s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed yesterday‘s incident.

Abiodun said, “During a follow-up assessment of the operation, the Police operatives of Rijau Division with vigilante members recovered fifty (50) rounds of anti-aircraft live ammunition abandoned by the bandits at Biyemu forest as a result of the bombardment.”
