Son Demands Justice For Mother Allegedly Killed By Step Son

Yusuf Tesilm, one of the children of  Alhaja Falilat Yusuf allegedly killed by a  step son in Ilorin, Kwara State, has demanded justice for his mother.

Teslim made the demand while narrating the incident to newsmen at the family residence at Danialu, Gaa – Akanbi Area, Ilorin.

The pathetic incident happened on June 12, 2025, in Ilorin, when a  17-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his step mother, Falilat Yusuf, to death.

Teslim said that the incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. after the weekly Juma’at congregational prayer.

He explained that suspect is the son of his stepmother who was under his guidance but that their father rented a separate apartment for his mother within the same Gaa-Akanbi Area.

“Before now, the suspect has been strictly warned not to visit our house again because of his incessant stealing habit.

“I saw him before he killed my mother but I was unaware of his evil motive,” Teslim  said.

He explained that he met the suspect  while he (Teslim) was on his way to the mosque near their house on the day the suspect killed his mother but ignored him.

“I thought he was trying to perpetrate his stealing attitude again, my major focus that period was to join in performing the Juma’at prayer

“As I was returning from the Juma’at prayer, I saw the suspect washing his hands outside our house and immediately he sighted me he ran away,” Teslim said.

He added that it was when he entered the house that he met his mother in her pool of blood and raised an alarm.

Teslim said it was then he shouted that the suspect had killed his mother, saying that while they were interrogating him they noticed blood stains on his slippers.
