8-Member C’ttee Investigates Emir Sanusi’s Palace Attack

The Kano state police command said it has constituted an eight-member committee to investigate the immediate cause of the altercation between the supporters of the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, and the 16th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sañusi II.

The sad incident happened last Sunday at the palace of Emir Sanusi at Kofar Kudu in Kano, which led to the injury of many and vandalism of properties, including police vans.

The commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Bakori, revealed this on Wednesday when he hosted new Executives of Kano state Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) on a courtesy visit in his office.

According to him, the committee inaugurated on Monday is expected to submit its report within seven days.

Regarding the Correspondents’ Chapel’s visit, CP Bakori pledged continued collaboration with chapel members to promote community policing.

Earlier, the Chairman of Kano Correspondents’ Chapel, Mr Murtala Adewale, informed CP Bakori that the visit aimed to cement the existing relationship with the Police.
