A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State, Bala Sale Chiroma, has said African Democratic Congress (ADC) does not pose a threat to the ruling party in the state.
In an interview with our correspondent in Bauchi, Chiroma, a senior special assistant on Youth to Governor Bala Mohammed, said ADC can never be a threat to PDP in Bauchi or even Nigeria.
He said ADC is just like a union or association, as their name implies. He added the alliance is not like the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with complete structures in all 774 local government area councils.
He recalled that only the PDP has not changed its name or allied with any political party since its creation in 1998.
He said, “I’m optimistic that ADC would not succeed in their quest to run this country.”
Chiroma continued, “I’m calling on Nigerians to forget about ADC and APC and come and join the only party with a clear vision, mission, and credibility to save this country.
“PDP has ruled this country for over eight years, and people witnessed the development during its regime and enjoyed the dividends of democracy in all ramifications of social amenities, infrastructure, job opportunities, and maintenance of peace and security of the nation.
“I believe in the leadership and capacity of Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State; if given the opportunity, he has the capacity to lead this country. He has demonstrated it as a one-term Senator, Minister for seven years, and now Governor for six years as well as the chairman of PDP Governors Forum,” he said.
