Key stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State are preparing for a crucial National Executive Council (NEC) meeting scheduled for tomorrow.
The meeting, convened by the Forum of 2023 PDP Federal House of Representatives and state assembly candidates, aims to address ongoing concerns surrounding the party’s unity and internal cooperation.
Chairman of the forum, Ambassador Abdul Rahman M. Salga Mainasara, said the gathering would be a response to concerns raised by party members about its direction in Kano State.
He noted that forum members had expressed concern over alleged internal disagreements and the need to reaffirm the party’s commitment to collective goals.
According to Mainasara, the meeting will focus on strengthening the party’s internal cohesion and addressing issues affecting members’ trust and active participation.
He emphasised the importance of unity among stakeholders and the need to build confidence ahead of future political engagements in the state.
The NEC meeting is expected to provide a platform for dialogue and reconciliation, as well as chart a clear path forward for the party in Kano.
With the PDP also managing other intra-party dynamics at the national level, the outcome of the Kano meeting is seen as an opportunity to reinforce the party’s structure and relevance in the state.
Observers say the decisions made this weekend could influence the PDP’s broader efforts to maintain a strong presence in the region and position itself effectively ahead of future elections.
