Adams Peter Oyarekwa has been sworn in as the unity president of Rotary Club Abuja Ministers’ Hill.
During the handover ceremony in Abuja on Thursday, Oyarekhua outlined his agenda, focusing on empowering youths through various initiatives including youth empowerment, basic education and infrastructure development to make a positive impact on the community, particularly among young people by providing opportunities for growth and development.
Adams said he was passionate about serving humanity, saying his grandfather was a Rotarian, and this passion had been passed down through generations.
He appreciated the outgoing president, Rtn. Oro-ghene Samson Adia, for his dedicated service, inspiring leadership and extraordinary achievements of the Magic Rotary Year.
“Together, we have touched countless lives, making a tangible difference in our adopted community by providing essential healthcare services, empowering our youth with vital tools, and expanding access to education through scholarships. Our collective efforts during the year were nothing short of magical,” he said.
He noted that the true magic of Rotary was in collective endeavors.
“It is the powerful synergy of our resources, our compassionate spirit, and our unwavering commitment that drives us. I am reminded of the immense power we hold when we stand together. Our theme for this Rotary Year, and indeed for our collective efforts, is “Unite for Good,” he added.
He appealed to potential donors to contribute to the club’s projects, emphasising that every small donation could make a significant difference in a child’s life.
He encouraged everyone to make donation a way of life, highlighting the impact it could have on the community.
